Universal Edgebanding - Low Viscosity
Low viscosity, long open time hot melt for a wide range of edge-
banding machine speeds. Excellent adhesion to a wide variety
of substrates. Applies in a thin glue line for better appearance
and high mileage.
Application:
For slowtohigh-speededgebanders. Also suitable for soft-forming,
profile wrapping, edge tape pre-coating, contour banding of thick
edges and end capping. Excellent adhesion to PVC, veneer, solid
wood, melamine and primed HPL edges.

HELMITHERM Edgebanding Hot Melt Pellets
Polyolefin-Based Formula
For Difficult Substrates
Good heat resistance, long open time and excellent machining
characteristics. For use on automatic edgebanding machines for
difficult to bond edges such as unprimed HPL and solid wood.
No added Urea-Formaldehyde.
Applications:
• Unprimed HPL
• Unprimed solid woods
Physical Characteristics:
• Seamless - becomes translucent when applied. Matches
all color tones; white through black as the glue lines are
invisible.
• Unfilled - less abrasion of machine and cutter surfaces.
Increased mileage pound for pound vs. filled. More
agressive glue line; apply less adhesive.
Thinner glue lines
Increased mileage; lower cost
Switch-over and Application:
• 470 is a drop-in replacement for “regular" edgebanding
products
• Run the gluepot down and then put in
• Typical application temperatures are 180-200C @ glue pot
and 185-215C 2 roller
IMPORTANT: Due to the high melting point of 470 it is CRITI-
CAL that machines which have an automatic roller start/stop
temperature setting have this reset to 155-160°C to avoid
equipment damage.
